Abstract

Background. In the international and Russian practice there is accaumulated certain experience of construction of ratings of world innovative countries, innovative development of regions and innovative activity of companies. The innovations bringing a positive effect are considered as a basis of growth (increase) of incomes of companies and business expansions. The work is to analyse the known techniques of construction of ratings of innovative activity and to offer a technique for more exact definition of positions of companies.
Materials and methods. Realization of research problems was achieved on the basis of the analysis of the basic techniques of construction of ratings of innovative activity. The basic concepts and indicators used in construction of ratings at various levels served as the base of research.
Results. The basic techniques of construction of ratings of innovative activity are investigated. Discrepancies and problem areas of each investigated technique are revealed, the exact characteristic of applied techniques is given and updatings for more exact construction of ratings of various objects of research are offered.
Conclusions. The transparent and clear technique should be a basis of any rating analytical product; rating should be reliable. The conducted research shows that in modern Russia there is the deficiency of the analytical information on results of innovative activity of large, medium and small size organisations both at regional and federal levels. The Russian information-analytical agencies which deal with these problems, basically, use the limited database and-or expert estimation in the course their work.
